What is Recordam?
Recordam is an elegant and easy-to-use application for audio recording which combines powerful high-quality audio recorder and convenient storage for recorded audio files.
Audio recording
To create a new audio recording you should go into the Audio Recording view first. To do this please click View > Audio Recording or press Control+Command+1.
Please note: The Audio Recording view is shown by default when you launch the application.
Click the Change device button ① to choose a different device for sound input (if you have more than one available).
Please note: You can change the device for sound input only before the recording started.
To change input volume level click the Input volume control ⑥.
Click the Record button ③ to start recording. To pause recording, click the Record button ③ again; click it one more time to resume recording. To stop recoding click the Done button ⑦ (make sure that the recording is paused first) or press Command+Period(.).
Once the recording is stopped, you will be prompted to save this audio recording into the Recordam library. Here you can change the name of the audio recording as well as add author, subject or date.
Playback
To start playback you should open the Library view, and then double-click on the audio recording you want to play. To open the Library view please click View > Library or press Control+Command+3. To control playback you should open the Playback view. To do it please click View > Playback or press Control+Command+2.
Please note: You can directly open the Playback view and press the Play button. In this case, the first audio recording will be played.
Click the Play button ⑥ to start playing; to pause playing, click the Pause button ⑥. To stop playing press Command+Period(.).
To change volume level click the Volume control ⑨.
Click the Backward button ⑤ to play the previous audio recording in the Library. To play the next audio recording in the Library click the Forward button ⑦.
To move backward within an audio recording, Option-click the Backward button ⑤. Option-click on the Forward button ⑦ to move forward within an audio recording.
To go to a specific point in the audio recording, hold the Command key and scroll up or down in the Playback duration indicator ④.
Keyboard shortcut
You can use keyboard shortcuts — combinations of keys you press at the same time — to quickly accomplish many common tasks, such as start new recording or switch between views.
Many menu options include their keyboard shortcuts, such as ⌘N, where the symbol represents a “modifier key” on your keyboard.
